When you eat out a lot like I’m doing for The Great Livermore Restaurant Challenge, it pays to look out for coupons and specials. Since my wallet is in the mood for a good deal, I stopped by Togo’s Sandwiches for lunch.
There are two locations in Livermore, ironically both on First Street and both next to a Safeway. For #27 of The Great Livermore Restaurant Challenge I stopped by the Togo’s closer to 580 at Las Positas Road. Their other shop is located downtown next to the other Safeway and Osh Hardware.
Togo’s is great for their “Daily Specials.” The only catch is that you have to be in the mood for that day’s deal. If you are, you can get a 6″ sandwich for just $4. Add a 20oz drink to your sub and it’s $5. Or you can make it the full Daily Special Combo which includes the sandwich, drink and chips for only $6.
If you want a Turkey & Cheese and it isn’t a Saturday, the full combo will run you $8.50. A 30% in savings is not too shabby of a deal.
Currently their daily specials are as follows, though I’m sure it changes every once in a while:
- Monday: #6 Meatball
- Tuesday: #2 Ham & Cheese
- Wednesday: #16 Primo Italian
- Thursday: #19 Egg Salad & Cheese
- Friday: #20 Albacore Tuna
- Saturday: #3 Turkey & Cheese
- Sunday: #5 Turkey & Cranberry
Personally Fridays and Sundays are my favorite days to visit. I’m a sucker for anything that reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner. 🙂
I’ve been to a Togo’s probably a few dozen times in my life and I’ve always had a good sandwich and a consistent experience – this location is no exception. If I had to rate Togo’s along with the two big chains, I’d probably put it close to Quiznos but well above Subway. With their specials, it makes lunch a really good value. I rate it high on the “big bang for your buck” scale.
What do you think about Togo’s? How do their sandwiches compare to other sandwich shops in Livermore? Quiznos? Subway? Mr. Pickle’s? Ofelia’s?
