Livermore Pumpkin Patches

Livermore Pumpkin Patches

Halloween is upon us and you know what that means… PUMPKINS!!!

While picking up pumpkins at the grocery store is convenient, it just doesn’t get you into the Halloween spirit like a pumpkin patch does.

While I haven’t found The Great Pumpkin, during my quest I did discover a couple great pumpkin patches in Livermore. We have Joan’s Farm & Pumpkin Patch on Mines Road and G&M Farms on Airway Boulevard. While they are not “cut-your-own” patches, they do both offer lots of pumpkins and plenty of entertainment for the family.

Before you head out on your great pumpkin quest, read on for more info about Livermore’s great pumpkin patches below.

Visible from I-580, G&M is famous for its cornfield maze that spans six acres and features a new theme each year. For 2014 the theme is the Statue of Liberty. The maze is pretty big and there are clues along the way to help you find your way. Fee’s are $10 for adults, $9 for kids Friday – Sunday. $2 less the rest of the week. Don’t forget to print out the $1 off coupon; you’ll need one for each person.

They also have the Barnyard Blaster where you get to shoot tennis balls with an air cannon at various targets on a makeshift farm.

Next door is G&M’s pumpkin patch where pumpkins cost $7. They also have other attractions as well: a straw bale maze for the little ones, a large sand corn box, a cow train ride, farm animals, pedal karts, and pony rides.

Joan’s Farm & Pumpkin Patch

Livermore Pumpkin Patches

4351 Mines Rd.
Livermore, CA 94550 (map)
(925) 447-0794
www.joansfarm.com

About a mile down Mines Road offTesla, Joan’s Farm is, well, actually a farm. Joan’s is suited for younger kids, while older kids and teens might prefer the larger maze at G&M.

This place has tons of activities for children. In addition to the pumpkin patch, there is a corn maze (smaller than G&M’s), a fort maze, farm animals to feed and pet, hay rides, gem panning, an old west town to explore, pony rides, a museum, and more. When you need a break, they even have Joan’s Snack Shack to keep you fed and happy.

Entry is free, pumpkins range from $3 – $14 depending on size, and some of the attractions, like the train ride and gem panning cost a few bucks. It’s a great place to bring the kids especially with the real farm setting. Don’t forget to bring your camera as there will be plenty of photo opportunities for parents.

Dates: Oct 1-31
Hours: Daily, 9am-6pm
